I guess thats what you could call it. I've been noticing a light groaning or rubbing noise while in neutral. Once the clutch pedal is pressed down the noise goes away and the car idles slightly faster.
Im not sure if it is still having those issues while driving since the noise would be drowned out by the engine. Does it sound like something going on with the throwout bearing or throw out shaft? …

I've been restoring a 72 with a manual trans and wanted to start putting the car back together. The previous owner said the tranny worked fine but the engine was not running & mileage unknown when purchased. Before reinstalling the transmission I was going to atleast change the transaxle fluid & clutch. Maybe even replace the throw out bearing? Is there anything else anyone would …

Recently swapped out a bad starter in a 72 Bug but now it when the key is put in the ignition and turned all the way there a delay before the starter turns. You can hear the solenoid click on but then silent for a few seconds before it cranks. Sometimes it cranks right away.
Seems worse when cold out. Almost seems like the starter is trying to pull amps up before it cranks? Cleaned battery posts …
